Bernoulli instructorship in Algebra

Mission

The Institute of Mathematics at the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) invites applications for a full-time Bernoulli instructorship in algebra.

Bernoulli Instructors are expected to teach algebra courses at all levels, notably algebraic geometry. The initial teaching load is light, corresponding to half the teaching load of regular faculty, and gradually progresses to the latter.

Bernoulli Instructors are expected to develop and sustain an excellent independent research program. They are welcome to collaborate and encouraged to interact with members of the Institute, but they maintain full research independence.

Bernoulli Instructors must have a PhD in Mathematics by the starting date, and must teach in French, English or both.

The EPFL actively aims to increase the presence of women amongst its employees, and women candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
