EPFL is a dynamic and innovative high education and research institution. Fostering the industry liaisons, supporting and nurturing trustful relationship between EPFL's industrial partners and EPFL ecosystem is one of the key mission for the Vice-Presidency for Innovation and Impact (VPI)

As such the Industry Liaison Office (ILO) team in VPI is responsible for establishing and maintaining the long-term relationship between industrial accounts and EPFL. ILO team also identify the needs and requirements to develop the industry–academia collaboration, and is the primary point of contact for all types of collaboration working with other EPFL services and entities.

Your mission

In this position, you will be part of the Industrial Liaison Office and work closely with all the units of the Vice-Presidency for Innovation and Impact (VPI), developing a solid knowledge of the EPFL Innovation ecosystem, including research laboratories, students and startups, to become a privileged point of contact for a portfolio of companies and a trusted point of contact for researchers.

Main duties and responsibilities

• Foster trustful relationship with a portfolio of companies having a long-term relationship with EPFL.
• Build relationships with new industry partners.
• Acquire a thorough understanding of companies and professors' needs and ensure appropriate collaboration models and services are developed and delivered. Link to other EPFL entities depending on the needs.
• Acquire a strong knowledge and understanding of EPFL ecosystem for helping companies to identify the right partners for their innovation projects.
• Be proactive in proposing new potential collaboration opportunities by following EPFL research activities.
• Resolve any issues and problems the partner faces and deal with complaints to maintain trust and enrich existing collaboration.
• Serve as the communication link between companies, researchers, EPFL & VPI teams and services.
• Represent the VPI and organize industrial visits.
• Prepare regular reports of progress and forecasts using key account metrics.

Other activitie

• Support the different VPI and EPFL industry support programs and contribute developing new services for VPI and EPFL.

Your profile

• Scientific or engineering backgroung (Master degree in engineering EPF or HES), with a preference in Computer Sciences and/or Physics.
• Passion for science and technology-driven innovation.
• Three to five years of relevant experience and/or training or equivalent combination.
• Former experience in product development and/or innovation management in a technology company.
• Experience in providing solutions based on customer needs.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with aptitude in building relationships with professionals of all organization levels and different cultures.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability in problem-solving and negotiation.
• Excellent presentation skills.
• Languages: Fluency in English and French is required, and other languages (e.g., German/) would be a plus.
• Team player, autonomous, curious with a strong commitment to results.
