Lecturer in Statistics
Mission
The Lecturer in Statistics will contribute to the teaching and academic support of the Institute of Mathematics, with a primary focus on Statistics. The role combines a strong pedagogical component with a secondary research engagement, reinforcing the dynamism of the statistics group.
Main duties and responsibilities
• Teach Statistics at various levels: introductory/service courses and upper-division courses
• Supervise semester projects and MSc theses
• Collaborate with Institute faculty to enhance course delivery and content
• Contribute to the research activities of the statistics group (20% of the position)
• Engage actively in the academic life of the Institute
Profile
• PhD in Statistics or a related discipline
• Demonstrated experience in university-level teaching, ideally across multiple levels
• Research activity is considered an asset, though not the primary focus
• Proficiency in French or English; willingness and ability to teach in French by the end of the fixed term contract
