Operations Manager - EPFL AI Center

Mission

The Operations Manager will support the Academic Directors in the practical implementation, operational management, and coordination of the activities of the EPFL AI Center. This role emphasizes hands-on execution, administrative oversight, and effective coordination among internal and external stakeholders

Main duties and responsibilities

  • Operational implementation of AI Center’s strategic initiatives under the direction of the Academic Directors.
  • Day-to-day management of the AI Center’s operations, including budget management and reporting.
  • Management and coordination of ongoing projects, programs and initiatives developed by the Center
  • Implementation of a broad and diverse fundraising strategy

 

Additional responsibilities in close collaboration with the AI Center team members:

  • Relationship management with partner organizations (educational institutions, industry partners, governmental agencies, NGOs, etc.)
  • Support of industry partnership programs
  • Support of innovation and technology transfer programs
  • Support of public relationships, including events with institutional and industrial partners

 

Profile

  • Preferably PhD degree in AI related discipline, or master's degree in a relevant field
  • Minimum 3-5 years of AI or tech industry or equivalent experience
  • Familiarity or interest in understanding the Swiss higher education system.
  • Experience in team and project management, ideally in a dynamic and agile environment
  • Experience in fundraising (public and/or private funding)
  • Strong sense of organization and responsibility, strong entrepreneurial spirit
  • Fluency in English and good control of French. Knowledge of German and/or Italian is a plus
