Postdoctoral Position in Microbiology - Anti-Infective Drug Discovery
Mission
We are inviting applications for a postdoctoral position in microbiology to join our dynamic and interdisciplinary lab focused on pioneering next-generation anti-infective drug discovery pipelines.
Our lab is developing novel drug discovery platforms that integrate human organoid infection models, computational drug design and single-cell resolution microscopy at high throughput. The goal is to identify and characterize new antimicrobial strategies with precision and scalability, bridging microbiology, bioengineering, and quantitative imaging.
Main duties and responsibilities
- Working and collaborating on research projects. The precise research topic(s) will be discussed with the successful candidate depending on their background, expertise and affinities.
- Analysis and publication of results
- Build a strong network in the field of research
- Participate in education, and PhD and master student supervision
Profile
- PhD in microbiology, infection biology, or a related discipline
- Solid expertise in microbial genetics, host-pathogen interactions, biochemistry or antimicrobial mechanisms
- Interest or experience in quantitative approaches such as microscopy, image analysis, microfluidics or engineering-based methods
- Comfortable working across disciplines and contributing to both experimental and conceptual innovation
