Research Manager
Main duties and responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Executive Director:
- Support EPFL's energy system modelisation activities;
- Manage the NetZero Valley Initiative in collaboration with HES-SO Valais-Wallis;
- Coordinate the Swiss Partners of the European Research Infrastructure Consortiumm ECCSEL;
- Contribute to CEN's public outreach
Profile
- Phd Degree and research experience in a field relevant to energy
- Expertise in energy systems modeling and optimization
- Broad systemic knowledge of the energy sector including technologies, players, and constraints
- Broad knowledge of the Swiss academic landscape
- Strong understanding of the competitive research environment
- Strong analytical and interpersonal skills
- Proven experience in project management
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Fluent in English, written and spoken
- Adaptable, service-oriented, reliable, with a hands-on approach to develop effective partnerships and collaborations
Skills
Ability to build strong relationships with diverse stakeholders. Proactive and independent, manage timelines and projects efficiently. Analytical and strategic thinking are essential for identifying opportunities and developing plans. Effective networking, excellent writing skills, cultural awareness, and understanding the Swiss academic landscape are crucial.
