The EPFL Energy Center is looking for a Research Manager 

Main duties and responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Executive Director: 

  • Support EPFL's energy system modelisation activities;
  • Manage the NetZero Valley Initiative in collaboration with HES-SO Valais-Wallis;
  • Coordinate the Swiss Partners of the European Research Infrastructure Consortiumm ECCSEL;
  • Contribute to CEN's public outreach

Profile

  • Phd Degree and research experience in a field relevant to energy 
  • Expertise in energy systems modeling and optimization
  • Broad systemic knowledge of the energy sector including technologies, players, and constraints
  • Broad knowledge of the Swiss academic landscape
  • Strong understanding of the competitive research environment
  • Strong analytical and interpersonal skills
  • Proven experience in project management
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills 
  • Fluent in English, written and spoken
  • Adaptable, service-oriented, reliable, with a hands-on approach to develop effective partnerships and collaborations
