Postdoc position in polymer design for vat photopolymerization

Mission

We are offering a full-time (100%) postdoc position at the Laboratory for the Chemistry of Materials and Manufacturing (ALCHEMY) at  EPFL Neuchatel. At EPFL ALCHEMY, we are focused on developing accessible chemistries and processing strategies that can enable the fabrication of a wide variety of advanced functional materials and devices.

We are seeking a candidate with experience either in a) the development of (macro)monomers for the synthesis of microstructured polymers or b) the development of novel photopolymerization/photocrosslinking strategies.

Main duties and responsibilities

As a postdoc, you will be expected to:

    • Have full responsibility for your own research
    • Provide mentorship on chemical synthesis and characterization
    • Research in close collaboration with other lab members and international collaborators
    • Experiment design and execution
    • Analyze and interpret experimental results
    • Write scientific articles for publication in peer-reviewed journals
    • Present at international conferences

Profile

  • A PhD degree in the fields of chemistry or polymer science. Materials science is possible if the candidate has the required experience listed below
  • Experience with small molecule synthesis and characterization is required
  • Experience with polymer characterization is required
  • At least 2 peer-reviewed scientific articles
  • Excellent comunication skills in English
